with the user interfaces for the new siemens gigaset telephones, the designgruppe flath & frank, where i am currently working, has won one of the if communications design award 2008. i was invovled in several of the nominated telephones whereas one can be viewed in the if online online exhibition. the winners ceremony will be on the 28th of august in hannover.
here are some of the drafts for the corporate identity of an orthodontist. although the client picked none of the logos, i think they work quite well even in black and white. the problem here is that teeth and smiles as icons are likely to evoke negative associations. this impression is of course something an orthodontist wants to avoid.
the last 6 month, since march 2008, i am working as a user interface designer for designgruppe flath & frank who are specialized in industrial and information design. some of their longtime clients are for example siemens, the european patent office, the sony center in berlin, the aiport in cologne and bonn and the local public transportation system and energy provider in munich, the swm (munich city utilities).
